The Village of Wellington and the American Legion Chris Reyka Memorial will be honoring all veterans on Memorial Day, Monday May 28th 2012, with a ceremony.

Wellington’s Memorial Day Parade will begin at 8:15am at the Wellington Community Center (12150 Forest Hill Blvd) and end at the Wellington’s Veterans Memorial on the corner of Forest Hill Blvd & South Shore Blvd.

Wellington’s Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at approximately 8:30am at the Wellington Veterans Memorial. If you are an active or retired veteran attending the Memorial Day Ceremony you can register the morning of the event to be recognized for your service.  You can also have your name added to the lit by contacting Eric Juckett at 561-753-2497.

Wellington Florida Home Sales have INCREASED  57% since last month and cash buyers are still dominating the market currently making up 57% of the home buyers, which is a record high.

Village Park, also commonly referred to as Pierson Park, is located in Wellington Florida and sits on 114 acres. A majority of the recreational programs that Wellington has to offer take place at Village Park, like soccer, basketball, baseball and football.

Scott’s Place is a barrier-free playground in Wellington Florida that children of every ability can enjoy.  This beautiful park was built by the community in 2010 and made possible in part to the generous donation of $250,000 made by Del & Barbara Williamson in honor of their son Scott, who they lost to cerebral palsy at the age of six.

Scott’s Place features accessible playground equipment throughout, including a large play set with wheelchair ramps, jungle gym, swings and slides.  A brick paver walkway leads to a “Reading Corner” where a chest filled with books is located.  There is also a pavilion and benches throughout the park.

Outside the fence at Scott’s Place you’ll find a picnic area, which can be rented and the Wellington Amphitheater.
