Recycle AND Save Money at Target?

by Michelle Gibson, REALTOR® on May 24, 2011

The next time you shop at your local Target make sure to bring your reusable bags because they will give you 5₵ for each recyclable bag you use.  While Target sells recyclable bags you don’t have to buy or use theirs in order to get the credit, the bag just has to be an actual reusable shopping bag, not plastic.

Target also has recycling stations at the front of each store. Last year they launched their “recycling program” to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Earth Day and put a  recycling station at every store across the nation.  Now Target customers can recycle aluminum, glass and plastic beverage containers, plastic bags, MP3 players, cell phones and ink cartridges right at the store.

Having spent many years in recycling all humans to save the planet and our attitudes to the spend spend way of life must recycle. I believe if we taught people how to unlock their creativity in their everyday life we would be more motivated to think in a way that would naturally think how can use this again or what use can I put this to. Even the humble plastic bag as so many uses if we were creative
I teach creativity for use by ordinary people in their everyday life and by its use get so much more out of life , for in the end we are what we think.

I love that you can recycle so much at Target! I wish we had one in our area. I would definitely take advantage of it.

Michelle,
Thanks for the information. I see so many more people now who go into a store with their green friendly bags. I think all stores should give them a discount. They’re not spending the money on their bags if you bring your own and it’s a good way to benefit those who do even a small part to help the environment.

Great post,
Tammy
